Also, I assume you need a license or permit, where could you get that?|||Ever since the Travis the Chimp incident a couple years ago most municipalities have made it very difficult for private parties to keep and own exotic pets.That and international law is cracking down on the capture and trade of exotic animals.|||Don't do it. You can't keep a chimp for longer than five years, and it's ridiculously hard to care for them, let alone get a permit. You'd be taking a wild animal who misses his family into a strange place with inadequate care and 'imitation environment enrichment'. It's sickening. You'll pay thousands for at least an acre of free space, toys, special veterinary care, diet, and you'll have to give your chimp away when they get too big. Which is, very, very soon. So you'll basically be breaking this creature's heart TWICE.
Don't do it.|||Start saving, when the chimp freaks out and eats your best friend's face, it's gonna cost you $50 million. Unless it goes after you, then the reconstructive surgery might be a little cheaper. Once you get that together, THEN go look for a permit.
