What is your opinion about the chimpanzee attack?

You know, the one that happened on Monday in Connecticut?|||First, Chimpanzees are not monkeys, they are apes. Second, they are not pets or little children, they are individuals and need to be treated as such.

I have actually worked with Chimpanzees and the first day at the job I learned that even Jane Goodall had her fingers bitten off. They are big, they are strong, they are also loving, adorable and I can't tell you how amazing they are (again, each individual has their own special features).

It was very obvious that this woman in CT was in over her head, and she new it when she gave her poor chimp zanax, she just couldn't admit it to herself. The difference between her and a sanctuary, is that at a sanctuary they would have been prepared and acknowledged the fact that something will go wrong. It seems to me, that Trevor really wanted to go for a car ride (he could drive himself) had a temper tantrum and started to act like the competative chimpanzee he is when he didn't get his own way.|||Unfortunately this story is not surprising to me. Primates such as chimpanzees do not make good pets. Bottle feeding them from the day they are born is not going to erase millions of years of ingrained instinct. That also goes the same for any other wild animal such as a big cat.|||I have never met a monkey that I trusted. That attack was terrible. I pray for those poor women. The owner and the injured. Have a great day.|||It's tragic and 100% avoidable. Hollywood is the first party to blame.

The owner is the second party to blame.|||It's sad all the way around. I'm a firm believer that it is all human error as Chimpanzee's are not pets and should never be kept as such.|||Monkeys should not be allowed as pets.|||Let others beware. Chimpanzees can never really be trusted as pets. Their place is in the wild.
