I have a raccoon and I have come to realize that he is legal in some states, not in others. Sometimes you have to have a permit which I think with a chimp, it would make sense. Just make sure you "jump through the hoops" because they don't usually hesitate to take away your pet if you don't have the proper paperwork.|||In Connecticut, it is currently legal, however, the recent chimpanzee attack has made people begin to question this privilege.
