Therefore, from a biblical perspective, it's not at all surprising that human DNA and chimpanzee DNA show remarkable similarity. New research, however, indicates that the wide advertised 96 percent similarity between chimpanzee and human DNA is greatly exaggerated. Such claims are based on small segments of human and chimpanzee genomes where common sense dictates that similarities would be the greatest. While comparisons between the complete human genome and the complete chimpanzee have only recently begun, the most complete comparisons performed this far indicate that the degree of similarity is more like 85 to 90 percent.
Dissimilarity is especially pronounced for gene expression patterns that govern brain structure and activity. The human brain, unlike the brains of chimpanzees or any species that has ever lived, possesses structures to sustain spiritual activity, meditation, analysis, mathematics, logic, complex language development, and communication. The gene expression patterns responsible for these structures are unique to humans. The biblical creation model predicts that as geneticists look deeper into the genomes the great apes and the hominids that preceded humanity, they will continue to confirm that the human species is genetically distinct, not linked through natural evolutionary descent to other primates. The biblical model predicts that future genetic research will attests humanities uniqueness, a special creation in whom the Creator made appropriate use of similar or identical genetic designs He had already optimized for other species.|||Only special pleading can allow you to come up with this conclusion. There are a lot of differences between a chimp and a man. 98% sounds very similar, but there are still millions of nucleotides that are different. Furthermore, there is still some debate on that 98%.
I don't understand how evolutionists can think DNA is evidence for evolution. Do you know how information-rich DNA is? Do you know how tiny it is? Imagine writing a story and putting it on a book that is so small you need a microscope to read it. What would you say when someone said that the book evolved? Their proof of this claim is that the story is 98% similar to another story on another tiny book.|||It just shows the wisdom of God in that He created the same building blocks which are able to be used for the creation of all physical life.
Bricks, mortar, cement, glass, tiles and steel can be used to build a hospital or a jail but they are not to be confused as identical just because the use the same materials.|||A recent analysis of the DNA of chimpanzees and orangutans, as well as of certain monkeys and macaques, has revealed that their genetic makeup is not as similar to man’s as scientists once thought. “Large differences in DNA, not small ones, separate apes and monkeys from both humans and each other,” says Britain’s New Scientist magazine. “There are large deletions and insertions sprinkled throughout the chromosome,” explains Kelly Frazer of Perlegen Sciences, the California, U.S.A., company that did the analysis. New Scientist characterized the differences as a “yawning gap [that] divides monkeys and us.”
Chimpanzees still can not talk with a large vocabulary of words, make life changing decisions, or know right from wrong. No matter what evolutionists believe. A chimpanzee will always give birth to a chimpanzee. A human will always give birth to a human baby. No scientist has ever shown a chimpanzee give birth to a human baby because it is not possible! Evidence shows is all I am saying.|||Did you know that the chimp DNA is 115% longer than the human DNA, that the chimp has 24 Chromosomes to the human 23, that a 1.5 % difference would be 42,000,000 differences and that the chimps DNA makes proteins which are 75% different than the human DNA.
And you are going to bet your eternal destiny on a belief that you learned in school from people that hate God and are lost.

Two years ago in here all the evolution crazies were saying we shared 92% of the same DNA with the chimps; now - and just 2 years later - it's "98%". Wow.
Moving those goal posts to kick a field goal just gets easier and easier when you think you can just make sh!t up and pass it off as "fact".
We share 50% (2007 figure) the same DNA with bananas; I suppose there's room for the assertion that we share a common ancestry with bananas, too?|||I feel pretty good about it, actually. Chimpanzees don't commit murder, they don't commit rape (as they are only following the continuing the species) They neither cheat or lie.......... the list goes on. But the other 98% is all good!|||Evolutionists claim they evolved from apes or somesuch.
Then their DNA would be 100% identical.
From the way they reason it would appear credible in their cases.|||98%=100% chimpanzee

Would you say 1.999999...n.th. power % ?|||Eh, they'd have to know what dna is to have a real opinion, and statistically christians are not very educated so how could they know?|||When you find a chimp that has a spirit and knows there is a God and a conscience then it will be significant. Although you will not find those things in DNA.|||but differences are 42 million nucleotides (however you spell it) just 3 or 4 nucleotides are fatal differences, this is more evidence to a similar design, which points more to creation than evolution.|||That would explain the mysterious noises they make when snoring!
Other than that, I'm cool with having a 98% similar genetic code with them.|||Great. So we have 98% of the same DNA. The Lord must have made us the same time.
