What's the difference between how a chimpanzee understands human language. Compared to how a mute person?

(who could never speak since birth) understands human language.

They both hear and recognize words. But neither of them can use the words in speech.

What can a mute person do with human language that a Chimpanzee can't do.|||Even though a mute person cannot speak a human language, he is still in fact a very active participant in the mainstream society. In which case, he is conditioned to naturally process and understand human language, and therefore respond to vocal commands.

Chimpanzees on the other hand:

1. Do not have the mental capacity to fully process the complexities of human speech and

2. Do not have the conditioning to respond to vocal commands.

Therein lies your answer: A mute person understands, and therefore can respond to speech; Chimpanzees cannot without artificial conditioning.|||the human brain is well develope so it allows the human brain to have the ability to maintain a large vocabulary and think process, and shows the information in a faster speed, for example teh human that can't speak might try to use physical action such as sign language to communicate with you,

but if you are talking to a chimp who understand human languages their brain can't process the information as fast and they have such a little vocabulary that the chimp is not going to show much physical action in trying to communicate with you

its true that chimp is smart but they can't do the smilar things human due because of the complex structure of our brain|||A mute adult human has a much larger vocabulary, and can learn to write or sign to as to communicate like any other human in those media. A chimp has a limited vocabulary and is never able to string together complex sentences, due to a poor understanding of syntax.
