Mental age thus can only be determined using the average performance of other chimps the same age. Chimps can't be compared to humans this way: They need chimp tests.

Though Koko was a gorilla, this may give some insight.
But this is quite a range. I think this may give an idea to the inadequacies IQ tests pose not only with animals but humans as well...don't put TOO much on it.
